New Dishes...

First of all, a BIG "Thank You" to Susan from "Between Naps on the Porch" for hosting this wonderful event. I am constantly amazed at the beauty I find every Thursday. I've recently returned from a trip to AZ to see my kids and grandkids. while there, I found this set of dishes that literally called out "Buy Me"! When hubby saw the gleam in my eye, he graciously moved his golf clubs to make room for this set.

I fell in love with the detail on the plates and the vintage bunnies.

I especially love the egg-shaped plates and bowls.

I've had the crystal for quite some time, the stainless is my everyday Oneida, Independance. I used a lilac tablecloth and napkins that are pale yellow with lilac ribbon for the ring. If you haven't guessed where I got these dishes-yes Cracker Barrel!

Easter Brunch

I've been admiring all of the beautiful tablescapes that I have seen on the blogs lately. I have put together a sweet little table for an Easter Brunch. I've used my Fiesta in Dusty Rose, Periwinkle Blue, Sunflower and Sea Mist Green. The glasses are handblown in Mexico and come from an organic food store in my town. The bunny from Hobby Lobby, and the linens from my closet. The egg cups came from Home Goods-a terrific place that I have just discovered. Hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Easter Treats...

I really want to thank you, Michelle and Brianne, for turning me into a monster. I've been addicted to the blogs lately, especially the craft ones. I got this really cute banner from Sandra@ Stone Creek Market. She used her Cricut Expressions and the Easter cartridge. So, with alittle time, I created this beauty.

Where have you Been All My Life????

Where, oh where have these beauties been all of my life? I needed you starting in 1983 when Devin came home form the hospital. Or maybe when Ryan came home and wore cloth diapers for 2 years. But especially when I needed help with the 15 loads of laundry every week-including 1 just of white tube socks and 3 of jeans! But-you are here now and I love you!!!

My Contribution...

Thanks to that fabulous blog,"The Tortise and the Hare", I've been inspired to put out my St. Pat's day things a little earlier than usual. I've had the pot of gold for awhile. It's a terra cotta pot painted green and white. I put a piece of foam inside the pot to fill it up and then some gold foil to cover it up. I used a bag of Rollo's for the gold, but you could use anything that is wrapped in gold foil to get the same effect. The cute hurricanes came from the Dollar Tree, but I used my pewter candlesticks instead of the crystal ones I bought. The candles came from Germany, our sweet exchange student, Jenny always sends the greatest ones to me. Gold coins and wired garland finish this up. I had another tablecloth, but found this fabric at our local ALCO. They sell cut pieces of fabric-one yard for $3.99. I got two yards and sewed them together. I can use this cloth for alot of other things. Thanks Michelle and Brianne!!!!

Excitement!!!

Blake finally broke the news to us that he and Erin are getting married! We are really excited for them. She is a lovely girl and puts up with Blake's junk too! The big day is September 18 in Ft. Wayne. Now, the big question...What to wear?

Powdered Eggs...

Today I wanted to make some cookies for Valentine's Day for people in our Branch and our neighbors. I also wanted to make a Texas Sheet Cake for Terry, since that is his favorite thing in the world and what do you get for somebody that has everything anyway? So I looked in the fridge and found 2 eggs! I'm not going to say which recipe got the powdered eggs, just in case you might read this and think YUCK! They were pretty easy to use and I'm glad I had them in my food storage. And nobody could tell the difference...

I Can be Crafty Too!!

I've been watching my niece's blog "The Tortise and the Hare" for their cute, cute, cute ideas for Valentine's Day. So here are some pictures of my projects that I found on the blogs. I now consider my self a full-fledged "lurker", but it has really been alot of fun to see how creative people can be.
